In Central Falls, Rhode Island, school district administrators agree to fire every single teacher at the school. They say this is because the schools math scores on standardized tests are the lowest in the country and the school has a high drop out rate. The teachers were fired when they did not agree to add hours on to their schedule everyday without extra pay. In reality, this is a school with a large immigrant population, heavily crowded schools and low funds. Firing the teachers won't solve this problem. This is all part of the current policy to make test scores the deciding factor of teacher pay, school closures, and charter schools.
